Ameloblastic Carcinoma

Abstract
It is well known that ameloblastoma is a special entity which is derived from embryonic odontogenic epithelium.
Though literatures. on the ameloblastoma are aliu&l iit, so few of the ameloblastic carcinoma which has clinical and cellular malignancy have been? repoYted. Authors observed 3 cases of ameloblastic carcinoma, 2 cases from the Dept. of Oral Pathology, College of Dentistry, Seoul National University and 1 case from the Dept. - of Oral Pathology, School of Dentistry, University of MissouriKansas City. The results were as follows;
1. 3 cases of ameloblastoma presented 2 cases of 5th decade men and 1 case of 2nd decade women, and 1 case in low and 2 case in upper jaw. Of the 3 cases, 2 cases were recurrent ameloblastic carcinoma, and 1 case had a history diagnosed previously as a benign ameloblastoma.
2. All 3 cases revealed extensive proliferation and transformation of the odontogenic epithelium into cellular pattern of squamous cell carcinoma.
3. Of the 3 cases, 1 case showed ameloblastic follicles evidently undergoing into cystic formation with degeneration of stellate reticulum.
4. In 1 case, in many instances of specimen sites, the tumor cells can be seen surrounding small vascular channels; however, no distinct vascular invasion is noted.
